The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) intends to procure a high speed electronic optical character recognition inspection system capable of providing 100% inspection of various gray scale and OCR comparison features printed from a Currency Overprinting Process Equipment and Packaging (CopePak) Currency Press from Vision Assurance Systems of Hicksville, New York. The system is capable of inspecting the presence, position and integrity of currency seals, and serial numbers. This procurement action is for supplies or services in which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302 and FAR PART 12. The resulting purchase order will exceed the simplified purchase threshold. The procedures set forth in FAR Part 13 shall be used.
