AI Contract Overview
The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research through a Sources Sought Notice for the procurement of Bioness H200 and L300 Wireless Integrated Therapy Systems on a brand name or equal basis, with the intent to issue a formal solicitation soon. The required equipment includes specific kits and components for upper and lower limb therapy systems, clinician programming tools, foot sensors, and associated accessories, all designated for use at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas, to support outpatient occupational therapy and spinal cord injury rehabilitation programs. The notice explicitly states this is not a solicitation and does not obligate the government to award a contract; responses are voluntary and will be used solely for market research to determine competition levels, pricing, and potential procurement strategy including set-aside eligibility or sole source determination. Vendors must provide their Unique Entity Identifier, CAGE code, socioeconomic status certification (including if they are small business, SDVOSB, VOSB, HUBZone, or 8A certified), and proof of authorized distributor status through an OEM letterhead distribution letter to ensure compliance with VA prohibitions against grey market items. Responses must also indicate if the vendor is available under any government-wide contracting vehicles such as GSA Schedule, GWAC, SEWP, IDIQ, or BPA, and confirm their ability to provide training as outlined in the Statement of Work. The anticipated contract type for the future procurement will be a single award firm fixed price, and the North American Industry Classification System code is 339112 for surgical and medical instrument manufacturing with a size standard of 1,000 employees. Responses must be submitted by June 5th, 3:00 PM Central Time to the contract specialist, Robert Arabie, and must reference solicitation number 36C25626Q0857 in the email subject line. Vendors are encouraged to include estimated market pricing to inform the government’s budgeting and acquisition planning. No formal evaluation factors, delivery schedules, or contract values are provided at this stage, as this is purely a preliminary market inquiry. The government will consider sole sourcing the manufacturer if no qualified, authorized distributors respond. All information submitted will remain confidential within the MEDVAMC purchasing and contracting team and will not be released externally.
