6525--IsoPoint System and Software Intent to Sole Source
Contract Overview
Solicitation details, issuing organization, response deadlines, documents, and interested companies for this government contract opportunity.
AI Contract Overview
The Department of Veterans Affairs, through Network Contracting Office 12, intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract to Aktina Corp for the acquisition of the isoPoint Isocenter Characterization System. This equipment will support the Stereotactic Radiosurgery Program at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The system includes a stereo camera pod, tracking modules, precision mechanical markers, and specialized software designed for 3D characterization and beam to target error computation. This technology is required to provide sub 0.01 mm mechanical precision for the facility's Elekta Versa HD LINAC, offering capabilities that exceed standard Winston Lutz methodologies. Aktina Medical is identified as the sole manufacturer and exclusive provider of this proprietary optical tracking solution, which is the only known system capable of generating a full 3D error matrix through direct mechanical rotational axis measurements. While the government intends to proceed with a sole source procurement, interested parties may submit capability statements demonstrating an equivalent or superior product by August 18, 2026. Submissions must include technical specifications, proof of manufacturing authorization, and evidence of the ability to meet the required mechanical precision and installation standards.

Full Description
This action is for the acquisition of the isoPoint Isocenter Characterization System. This procurement supports the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) Program, located at 5000 W. National Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53295. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document is available, and no request for quotes will be issued. The Government requires the isoPoint Isocenter Characterization System, a proprietary optical tracking and 3D mechanical isocenter analysis solution used for precision quality assurance of stereotactic radiosurgery operations. The system consists of: Stereo camera pod Tracking modules Precision mechanical markers Software capable of 3D characterization, mechanical axis assessment, collimator and couch analysis, and beam to target error computation The isoPoint system will enhance the accuracy and efficiency of quality assurance for the facility s Elekta Versa HD LINAC, providing real time 3D mechanical data not achievable through existing Winston Lutz methodologies. The system s capability to achieve sub 0.01 mm mechanical precision is critical to maintaining clinical standards for the SRS program. Aktina Medical is the sole manufacturer and exclusive provider of the isoPoint Isocenter Characterization System. The isoPoint is the only known system capable of conducting direct mechanical rotational axis measurements of LINAC subsystems and generating a full 3D error matrix. Other QA tools rely on image based estimation and lack the ability to perform subsystem specific mechanical characterization. Only Aktina Medical s isoPoint system meets the clinical, technical, and operational requirements necessary to safely support the facility s stereotactic radiosurgery program. Interested parties may submit a capability statement that demonstrates the ability to provide an item equal to or exceeding the functional characteristics of the required isoPoint system. Responses must include: Technical specifications showing equivalency Proof of manufacturing authorization Evidence of ability to meet sub 0.01 mm mechanical precision and full 3D mechanical axis characterization Delivery and installation capability Responses are due: August 18, 2026 at 5:00pm Email responses to: Stacy.Massey@va.gov Include: Intent to Sole Source isoPoint in the subject line. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. If no responses meeting the Government s requirements are received, the VA will proceed with the sole source procurement.
