The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement (EPIMS-SON-65384-R3), pursuant to Fish and Game Code section 1602, to the project Applicant, Pacifica Companies. The Project is limited to the removal of 6,098 square feet (0.14 acre) of sediment and vegetation within a realigned channel of an unnamed tributary to Piner Creek. The channel realignment was authorized under Agreement No. 1600-2017-0181-R3. Restoration and replanting of the realigned channel was authorized as mitigation for Agreement No. EPIMS-SON-32773, which authorized the construction of concrete wingwalls and a headwall to protect an existing box culvert. A mini-excavator and skid steer will be used to clear the stream channel to reestablish flow. Dewatering may be required to remove the sediment and vegetation. The Project will result in 6,098 square feet (0.14 acre) and 405 linear feet of temporary impacts to stream habitat. Access and staging will occur from the adjacent paved parking lot. 10 riparian trees will be removed as a result of the Project.
