The contract involves an extension of the period of performance for Blanket Purchase Agreement N00039-03-A-0001 between the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) and Dell Marketing L.P., based in Round Rock, Texas. This extension covers the delivery of workstations, laptops, and printers to support the Program Executive Office (PEO) for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, and Space (C4I and Space) as well as the United States Navy. The equipment will be utilized for both classified and unclassified C4I networks, operating in environments afloat and ashore. The extension is set to begin on October 1, 2005, and will continue through March 31, 2006, providing a bridge until a competitive contract can be awarded in early fiscal year 2006. This contract action is considered a sole source procurement to Dell, with no solicitation to other vendors, recognizing the commercial nature of the items. In light of this, the standard 45-day period referred to in Numbered Note 22 has been reduced to 20 days. The Government plans to issue a competitive solicitation for a follow-on contract in the third quarter of 2005 to handle future requirements for workstations, laptops, and peripherals. The amendment ensures uninterrupted support while transitioning to a competitive acquisition strategy. For questions or more information, the point of contact is Gwen Valdivia, reachable via email.
