The Department of Defense (DoD), through the CECOM Acquisition Center-Washington, is offering an informational opportunity regarding the upcoming Defense Travel System (DTS) Travel Management Services solicitation, which is currently in the planning phase. This opportunity is open to any current DoD Travel Management Service providers as well as interested parties considering submitting a proposal. Participation is voluntary but will be mandatory for proposal submission in the future. The solicitation aims to procure comprehensive Travel Management Services, including all necessary personnel, equipment, and supervision to support authorized official travel for DoD personnel within 18 designated travel areas. The DoD expects to award multiple contracts, potentially one per travel area, though some contracts may cover several areas if beneficial to the government. The offered verification process is designed to familiarize Commercial Travel Offices (CTOs) with DTS’s capabilities and validate the electronic transfer of travel requests from DTS to the travel offices' Global Distribution Systems (GDS). Successful completion allows CTOs the option to electronically connect to DTS at designated pilot sites, enhancing travel request processing. Interested parties can schedule sessions or submit questions electronically, with further details and confirmation provided upon request. Contractual inquiries may be directed to the designated contracting officer at the CECOM Acquisition Center. This initiative underscores the DoD’s intent to streamline and modernize travel management services within the Defense Travel System framework.
