The 2025 Army/Navy Battery Industry Day is a one-day hybrid event hosted by the U.S. Army DEVCOM C5ISR Center in partnership with the Department of Navy Operational Energy and Army Operational Energy Offices. Scheduled for August 13, 2025, primarily at Aberdeen Proving Ground with a virtual option, the event aims to foster two-way collaboration between government and industry partners involved in battery technologies used across Department of Defense systems. It seeks to share key information on current and emerging battery demands, DoD battery standards, lithium battery safety measures, and energy priorities for platforms such as unmanned aerial systems and shipboard hybrid propulsion. Attendees will gain insights on government investment areas and have the opportunity to provide input on standardization and supply chain risk concerns, helping inform industry research and development efforts. Participation is limited to U.S. citizens who must complete security and identity verification prior to the event. The audience includes both established and potential industry partners, DoD program offices, and developers involved in systems reliant on battery power, including manned and unmanned platforms, communication systems, and electronic warfare technologies. The agenda divides the day into sessions for APG visitors in the morning and government organizational staff in the afternoon. Registration is limited to four representatives per company and must be completed by August 7, 2025, with no on-site registration available. The event is technology-focused with no specific solicitations or contract commitments implied, and it will conclude with a feedback survey to encourage ongoing engagement and innovation within the battery technology community.

2025 Army/Navy Battery Industry Day hosted by U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) Center. The C5ISR Center in collaboration with Department of Navy Operational Energy and the Army Operational Energy Offices are hosting an engagement event open to all of industry, for the purpose of providing two-way collaboration for successful fielding and system integration of current and future battery and battery-powered technologies. 1. Who: The intended audience includes active and prospective industry partners that develop or use battery technologies in DoD systems as well as DoD program offices. No media will be invited to attend. 2. When/Where: The one-day event is Wednesday 13 August 2025. It will be held in-person at Aberdeen Proving Ground (preference) with hybrid option, in both the Mallette Auditorium (Building 6008) and on MS Teams. 3. Purpose: The event will focus on communicating: Army and DON battery demand drivers; existing and developing DoD battery standards; DoD lithium battery safety thresholds; and safety mitigation solutions such as the Lithium Battery Facility or various containers and enclosures. Discussion will include how the Army, Navy and USMC will use batteries to power emerging DoD technology priorities (such as unmanned aerial systems and shipboard hybrid propulsion), and where the Army and DON are headed in battery development and integration. Discussion will also solicit input from industry on role of government in standardization of power systems and status of supply chain risk. The intent is to remain technology-focused and not tied to any specific acquisition or contract action(s). The two-way exchange will aid industry in identifying how best to invest internal research and development funds (IR&D), and communicate innovative solutions already being explored by the DoD or industry. The discussions held will focus on technologies that will support Army and DON Operational Energy priorities and warfighting capabilities. 4. Format: The event will utilize a dual approach in delivery with the morning session being open to approved APG visitors and the afternoon session reserved for government organizational partners and government employees. OSD, Army, and Navy will present investment areas and technology areas worth industry exploration and partnership. 5. Registration: Each business entity (per each CAGE Code) will be entitled to register four (4) representatives to attend the event. Registration opens with this posting and may be accessed through the following link: https://forms.osi.apps.mil/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=D9fm-kuVEUiStgUw1vhMQ62ND04u_9REn6oLx1-2CM1UNVEyWDUwSUZaUzFOSEdMM1Y2WExZTTI5Ny4u. There will be no on-site registration on the day of the event, nor any substitutions after 07 AUG 2025 at 2359. 6. Target Audience and Technology Areas: Developers of manned and unmanned systems/platforms, RADAR, directed energy, electronic warfare, communication and portable network systems, EOIR, or other technical areas that require battery power, as well as battery and battery system developers and DoD program offices. A draft agenda will be posted within this SAM.gov posting once available. 7. Classification Level: Attendees must be U.S. citizens. All attendees must complete one of the following. 1) Submit a Visit Authorization Request (VAR) through DISS to SMO W4G8AA7 no later than 1700 EST on 08 August 2025, the Government POC should be listed as Access Control, contact@example.gov or +1 (555) 000-0000. Shoulder Innovation System
Solicitation # HT941027N0008
The Defense Health Agency Contracting Activity intends to award a firm-fixed-price, sole-source purchase order to Source Medical Systems, INC for a Shoulder Innovation System. This procurement is designated as an 8(a) sole source under NAICS code 339112 to support an emergency procedure at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. The system is required for a patient with a proximal humerus fracture and a very small glenoid with moderate superior inclination, necessitating a reverse shoulder arthroplasty. The specific system is required because it provides a lower profile glenoid baseplate and a specialized mechanism for surgical planning and deformity correction, which are proprietary components distributed exclusively by the original equipment manufacturer. The delivery date for the system is set for October 27, 2026. While the government intends to proceed with a sole-source award due to the proprietary nature of the equipment, it has issued a notice of intent allowing other interested vendors to challenge the sole-source basis. To do so, vendors must submit a capability statement including management, technical, and cost data no later than 10:00 AM Pacific Daylight Time on October 28, 2026. These statements must be submitted in Microsoft Word or PDF format, not exceed six pages, and be sent to the primary points of contact, Joshua Thompson and Tracy Robinson.
