This is a combined synopsis/solicitation in accordance with FAR Part 13.
This is a simplified acquisition to establish a contact for specialized braille services, including tactile graphics.
The Library of Congress (Library) requires contract support to transcribe documents into braille, produce eBraille (.brf) files, and emboss and bind documents. The National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS) Information Services Section authors approximately 25 new or revised publications per fiscal year. The documents are textual in nature, and many contain bibliographic citations and lists of organizations with addresses, phone numbers, websites, and other contact information. This contract will enable all publications that are available in digital print format on the NLS public website to also have a hardcopy braille and .brf counterpart. This contract will also provide braille materials for visually impaired attendees at NLS conferences, meetings, and events.
This is intended to be a single-award 5-year IDIQ at or below the simplified acquisition threshold.
