City of Aurora Temporary Warming Center Overnight Security

The City of Aurora's Temporary Warming Center, which provides temporary warming center and opportunity to access supportive services for individuals experiencing homelessness. The warming center is projected to operate approximately 90 days between November 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027 and is projected to house approximately an average of 30 residents per day the center is open. The number of residents may fluctuate substantially based upon warming center utilization, weather conditions, seasonal demand, and emergency circumstances. The facility may will include sleeping areas, common areas, bathrooms, offices, storage areas, and other spaces accessible to guests, staff, and volunteers. Warming center residents may have varying needs and circumstances. Security personnel must therefore be able to maintain order and safety while treating all individuals with dignity, respect, and professionalism. The City of Aurora is seeking a security provider that understands that warming center security differs from conventional commercial security. The successful contractor must be able to balance safety and security requirements with a trauma-informed, service-oriented approach.
