The City of Hollywood is a municipality located in Broward County, Florida, with a diverse built environment that includes established residential neighborhoods, commercial and mixed-use corridors, redevelopment areas, coastal and barrier-island environments, transportation corridors, employment areas, and locations experiencing significant development and redevelopment activity. The Planning and Urban Design Division performs a broad range of current and long-range planning functions, including development review, zoning administration, comprehensive planning, policy development, neighborhood and area planning, urban design, GIS and spatial analysis, public engagement, and preparation of recommendations for appointed and elected decision-making bodies. The Consultant is intended to supplement, not replace, City Planning staff. For staff-augmentation assignments, the Consultant will generally provide technical, analytical, and production support under the direction of City staff. City staff will generally remain responsible for applicant coordination, public representation, and presentation of routine staff-augmentation work unless otherwise authorized. For master plans, area studies, comprehensive planning initiatives, and other discrete projects, the Consultant may serve as the project lead and may be responsible for project management, public engagement, stakeholder coordination, presentations, meetings, hearings, and preparation of final work products, as established by the applicable task order.
