The Phoenix Municipal Court ("Court"), on behalf of the City of Phoenix ("City"), is inviting qualified Offerors (sometimes referred to as "Proposers") to submit a written Request for Qualifications ("RFQu") response for Foreign Language Interpretation and Translation Services. The Court is required by law to provide interpreting services to limited English proficient and deaf and hard of hearing individuals involved in matters before the Court. Interpreters provide official communication between interpreted individuals and officers of the Court, including judges, hearing officers, attorneys, defendants, witnesses and investigators, both in and outside the courtroom. In order to provide interpreting and translation services, to provide due process to defendants appearing in court, to facilitate meaningful communication between attorneys and clients, and to facilitate meaningful communications among participants in court proceedings, the Phoenix Municipal Court is requesting statements of qualifications from professionals meeting proficiency and performance levels required to interpret in civil and criminal legal proceedings within the Phoenix Municipal Court and City of Phoenix Prosecutor's Office. All contract court interpreters are held to a professional standard of conduct and code of ethics. Interpreters shall comport themselves as Officers of the Court and perform all duties as impartial instruments of justice.
