The Department of Education's "Intrusion Detection System (IDS) For AIX" solicitation is for a Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) software that is capable of providing an intrusion detection system for the organization's AIX servers. Vendors are invited to propose a COTS software that is capable of meeting the Department's requirements identified in the requirements document that accompanies the solicitation. Furthermore, the contractor must propose a labor category and labor rate in order to meet training, installation and configuration requests, which may occur at the Department's Oxon Hill, MD and/or Atlanta, Georgia facilities. All responsible, small business organizations are invited to submit proposals effective 23 May 2006, which must be received prior to 5:00 PM ET, 20 June 2006.
