Dental Lab Tech Instructor

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Corrections is seeking a full-time Dental Lab Technician Instructor for Pennsylvania Correctional Industries at SCI Cambridge Springs. This one-year contract, which includes the option for four one-year renewals, requires an instructor to provide hands-on vocational training to incarcerated individuals. Key responsibilities include delivering instruction on dental lab skills such as waxing, casting, and digital workflows, developing curriculum aligned with ADA and NADL standards, and managing quality control and lab operations. The work is performed on-site Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM within a secure correctional facility. Qualified candidates must typically possess 3 to 5 years of experience in a dental laboratory and demonstrate the ability to teach and coach learners with diverse skill levels. Bidders must submit a resume, at least three references, and a signed Worker Protection and Investment Certification form, with CDT certification preferred. Due to the nature of the work environment, all personnel must undergo and pass a stringent background investigation and security clearance process. Payment is based on actual hours worked, with monthly invoicing required via PDF. Overtime and holiday work require prior approval from the Correctional Industries Director and are compensated at 1.5 times the regular rate, while any supplies purchased by the contractor are non-reimbursable.
