Solicitation # RFP-2026-0014
The Pittsburgh Public School District is soliciting a K-5 literacy universal screening, progress monitoring, reporting, and instructional decision-support system. The objective is to implement a system that identifies student literacy needs across domains such as phonics, decoding, and reading comprehension, providing districtwide visibility and actionable data for teachers. The system must operate independently of any core curriculum and provide automated data delivery via API or secure file transfer to ensure seamless integration with district systems. The contract is anticipated to last up to five years, with a project start date of February 1, 2027, and annual continuation subject to Board approval. Proposals are due by November 23, 2026, and must include a narrative not exceeding 30 pages, a pricing schedule, and technical evidence of psychometric reliability and validity. Award decisions will be based on the most advantageous proposal, evaluated through a two-stage process involving written scoring and standardized demonstrations. Iowa Industry to Classroom Academy CTE Teacher Mentoring Grant Program
Solicitation # 685608
The Iowa Industry to Classroom Academy is a pilot mentoring program launched by the Iowa Department of Education to recruit and retain career and technical education teachers transitioning directly from industry. The program pairs new or emerging CTE teachers, who possess specialized industry skills but lack formal pedagogical training, with experienced mentors for two years. This collaboration is designed to reduce professional isolation and help mentees progress from an initial CTE Authorization to a full five-year authorization. The initial pilot focuses on Family and Consumer Sciences teachers before expanding to all CTE content areas. The program is built upon four pillars: educator retention, instructional excellence, educator well-being, and continuous reflective practice. Over the two-year cycle spanning 2026 to 2028, mentees must complete six core pedagogy areas, including human relations, CTE teaching methods, and curriculum development. Financial support includes a 1,000 dollar total tuition and fee reimbursement for mentees and a 4,000 dollar total stipend for mentors. Additional reimbursements are available for travel, meals, lodging, and substitute pay. Participants are required to engage in monthly meetings, classroom observations, and a capstone project, while maintaining strict confidentiality regarding program interactions.
