East Works Yard Water Infiltration Remediation

The City of Markham has issued Request for Tender 205-T-26 for structural and mechanical modifications to improve water drainage in the Electrical Room at the East Works Yard, located at 10192 Ninth Line. The scope of work includes executing mechanical and structural drawings, implementing a weeping system if high water concentrations are encountered, and maintaining building operations through potential after-hours or weekend work. The project is anticipated to start in October 2026, with substantial completion by December 1, 2026, and final completion by December 15, 2026. Award decisions will be based on the best value for the City, considering quality, service, and price. A mandatory requirement for compliance is the submission of the bid price excluding taxes in the summary table, and bidders must adhere to the Municipal Buy Ontario Procurement Directive by committing to a minimum of 30% Ontario or Canadian content. The contract requires a performance bond and a labour and materials bond, each equal to 50% of the total bid price, covering a two-year warranty period from substantial completion. Additionally, the contractor must maintain a current WSIB Clearance Certificate and comply with the 2024 Ontario Building Code and various CANCSA standards.
