The Royal Canadian Mounted Police require emergency equine hospital services to provide urgent medical care for their horses when specialized treatment is necessary. Given the scarcity of equine veterinary hospitals within a reasonable distance, the government intends to award this contract to Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vétérinaire (UMCHUV) at the faculty of veterinary medicine in Montréal. This arrangement ensures that RCMP horses have timely access to critical medical facilities when needed. The contract solicitation, titled "Emergency Equine Hospital Services," was posted on January 28, 2026, with a response deadline of February 12, 2026. The services will cover locations within the National Capital Region, Ontario, and Quebec, excluding the NCR itself, with Ottawa specified as a point of performance.
