Emergency Exit Pathway Installation

The California Department of Parks and Recreation, Capital District, is seeking to upgrade an existing emergency fire exit egress at the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento to ensure full compliance with fire and accessibility codes. This project, identified as CEQA 14515 and District Project 670-26-05, focuses on converting the current exit into an ADA-compliant pathway. All work must be performed in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior Standards for Rehabilitation. The scope of work includes the removal of twelve 2-foot by 2-foot concrete pads and soil excavation up to 6 inches deep. The contractor will install approximately 90 feet of 4-inch by 6-inch redwood lumber secured with 2-foot long 5/8-inch rebar, followed by the installation of decomposed granite over a compacted Class A road base.
