Department of Water Resources (DWR) and Contractor will pump EarthTec QZ directly into the Devil Canyon Pumping Plant First Afterbay to prevent settlement and establishment of golden mussels in the San Gabriel Valley/Azusa Pipeline and San Bernardino/Foothill Pipeline downstream. Chemical dosing will be adjusted to achieve the target chemical concentration at a given rate of water flow in the pipelines. A 6,300-gallon storage tank will be located in the gravel parking area west of the pipeline intakes and will be surrounded by a 12x25 foot spill berm for secondary containment. All access and work is within DWR right of way.
