Responses to this sources sought notice shall be submitted in writing including a capabilities statement to Contract Specialist Daniel Zielinski, daniel.zielinski@va.gov, no later than 06/03/2026 at 10:00am EST.
VA VISN2 intends to award a firm-fixed price indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) to a qualified firm who can meet the following requirement. NY Harbor VA Healthcare System, see locations below, requires mortuary services for deceased unclaimed or indigent Veterans inpatient under VA or VA Authorized care from 07/01/2026 to 06/30/2027, plus four ordering periods through 06/30/2031. Estimated 10 burials per year.
The Contractor shall possess the current transit permit at the time of award of Contract. Permits covering burial, cremation or removal of the body, if required, are to be secured and paid for by the Contractor.
In accordance with the New York State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers, the Contractor shall provide proof of license for the establishment and funeral home director(s), prior to commencing any work under this contract.
The Contractor s employees shall have the appropriate and current license(s) prior to commencing work under this contract. Copies of registrations and licenses shall be furnished upon COR s request. The Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining Workers Compensation and Professional Liability Insurance, as well as remaining current on Federal, State and Medicare payments.
