Full Description

Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space proposes to provide funding toward the Geyserville Community Plaza Project, with improvements to include a play area, restroom/storage building, accessible picnic areas, paths and boardwalk, park furnishings, fencing, native landscaping, seasonal wetland/swale, floodplain and green-space restoration. The County previously adopted a Mitigated Negative Declaration in 2002 for the Geyserville Visitor Center Project located at the property (2002 MND). The Geyserville Community Plaza Project eliminates previously approved but unconstructed project elements, including the proposed 2,500-square-foot visitor center building, eastern parking lot expansion, and driveway extension evaluated in the 2002 MND, thereby substantially reducing the overall development footprint and preserving more open space and oak woodland habitat. An Addendum to the 2002 MND has been prepared pursuant to 14 CCR 15162 and 14 CCR 15164 analyzing the proposed modifications to the project and finding that the modified project would not result in new significant environmental impacts, substantially increase the severity of previously identified impacts, or require preparation of a subsequent or supplemental environmental document under CEQA.
