Inspection of Lightning Protection System

The Jefferson Parish Government is soliciting bids for a visual inspection of the existing roof circuit lightning protection system at the Jefferson Parish German American Cultural Center located in Gretna, Louisiana. The scope of work requires the contractor to provide all labor, materials, and equipment to inspect air terminals, lightning rods, conductors, bonding connections, and roof-level routing and supports. Additionally, the contractor must evaluate roof features such as chimneys, parapets, antennas, and mechanical equipment for proper bonding and coverage. Key deliverables include the identification of any missing or damaged components, photographs of significant deficiencies, and professional recommendations for corrective action. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder based on the base bid price, though separate line items for downleads, grounds, and roof conductors are required. Bidders must possess a valid Louisiana State Contractor’s License (Electrical) per LSA R.S. 37-2150 et seq., and the license number must be clearly indicated on the electronic bid submission to avoid rejection. Furthermore, contractors must meet standard insurance requirements, including Worker's Compensation, Commercial General Liability, and Business Automobile Liability, in accordance with Jefferson Parish Resolutions. Work may only commence following a Start of Work Conference and the receipt of a written Notice to Proceed from the Department of General Services.
