AI Contract Overview
The contract encompasses the construction and improvement of multiple trail segments and related infrastructure within Henrico County, Virginia, under the Fall Line Trail Southern Sections initiative. Key components include Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the Lakeside Community Trail, which together introduce approximately 5,800 linear feet of shared-use path, with targeted crossings over Upham Brook using a combination of premanufactured truss and concrete boardwalk structures, as well as pedestrian crosswalks at key intersections such as Dumbarton Road and Gillespie Avenue. Additional work involves drainage design, stormwater management systems, pavement marking, and signage to support safe and accessible pedestrian movement. The Brook Road and Hilliard Road Trail segment adds another 2,800 linear feet of path, featuring a crossing over North Run with truss and boardwalk elements, a pedestrian crosswalk at Hilliard Road, and a road diet reducing Hilliard Road from four to three lanes to enhance safety and accommodate non-vehicle traffic. Complementing this, the Hilliard Road Safety and Mobility Improvements project extends approximately 2,700 linear feet along Hilliard Road between Lakeside Avenue and Brook Road, implementing bicycle lanes and signage within existing right-of-way, further integrating with the adjacent trail system through coordinated road diet measures. All work is governed by Solicitation No. IFB-123451 issued by Henrico County Government, with proposals due by August 13, 2026, and the solicitation posted on June 30, 2026.
