Johnson Meadow Upper Truckee River Middle Reaches 1 & 2 Restoration Project

The Tahoe Resource Conservation District is managing the Johnson Meadow Upper Truckee River Middle Reaches 1 & 2 Restoration Project in South Lake Tahoe, California. A key component of this initiative, funded by the WCB under tracker ID 2025150, involves the construction of a grade control structure at the Highway 50 bridge to restore approximately 79 acres of mountain meadow habitat. This specific effort is part of a broader restoration strategy aimed at enhancing nearly 3 miles of river channel and restoring approximately 206 acres of floodplain. The project is coordinated by primary points of contact Andrew Schurr and Jen Stanfield to ensure the ecological recovery of the Upper Truckee River region.
