The Pyke Field Improvement Project proposes improvements to the existing park and recreational facilities at Pyke Field in Crescent City, Del Norte County, California. The proposed project will include installation of a new playground structure with accessible surfacing; replacement and/or installation of new energy-efficient LED field lighting; installation of a new snack shack with public restrooms; and installation of a new gazebo with barbecue and picnic areas. Associated work may include minor grading and site preparation, accessible pathways and facility access, utility connections, concrete pads and foundations, minor drainage improvements, landscaping, signage, and other incidental improvements necessary to support the proposed facilities. All improvements will occur within the boundaries of the existing developed park and are intended to improve public access, safety, accessibility, energy efficiency, and recreational opportunities. The project will not change the property’s existing public park and recreational use.
