The project proposes to construct a new 10 ft x 28 ft floating dock. Access to the dock will be via metal stairs, attached to the west patio of the dwelling leading down to the water and a 30 ft x 3 ft gangway. The project would include driving three metal pilings into the lakebed to support the dock. No vegetation is proposed for removal.
Construction is anticipated to take approximately 14 days and will be conducted from a floating barge and crane. Construction hours would be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The applicant is requesting that work be allowed to proceed outside the annual Hitch seasonal window of Oct 15 thru Dec 31. The applicant is required to obtain a Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement and approval to work outside the Hitch window from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
The project also requires a Lakebed Encroachment Permit from the Lake County Department of Water Resources. According to the Habitat Evaluation completed by the Department of Water Resources for the Encroachment Permit, Tules are not present within the project area, and no vegetation removal is needed, as the beach consists of sand and gravel. As such, no biological resources would be significantly impacted. There are no known recorded cultural resources on-site. Lastly, a request for review and opportunity to comment was provided to all Lake County Tribes.
