Macadamia Access Road Repairs Project

The Macadamia Access Road Repairs Project, managed by the Town of Hillsborough Public Works Department, involves the repair and reinforcement of nine unpaved road segments used for sewer infrastructure maintenance. These roads were damaged by landslides during storm events in 2022 and 2023. The scope of work includes a combination of embankment repairs and the installation of retaining walls to protect existing sewer alignments and ensure the continued delivery of sanitary sewer services to the public. The project is divided into two phases, with the first phase addressing the southern access road and the second phase focusing on the northern access road. Specifically, the northwest access road involves three segments covering approximately 1,200 feet, while the southeast access road consists of five segments covering approximately 2,500 feet. The project is located at the intersection of Skyfarm Drive and Macadamia Drive in Hillsborough, California. Because the project area contains wetlands and biologically sensitive habitats, the Town is responsible for consulting with regulatory agencies and obtaining all necessary state and federal environmental permits. The project qualifies for a statutory exemption under California Public Resources Code Section 21080.25(b)(3) as it involves emergency repairs in a disaster-stricken area.
