Marine Drive Traffic Calming and Road Resurfacing

The Town of Oakville is soliciting electronic bids for the Marine Drive Traffic Calming and Road Resurfacing project, covering the section from East Street to Third Line. The scope of work includes road resurfacing with asphalt paving using a material transfer vehicle, installation of Town-supplied LED roadway lighting and smart control nodes, and the construction of low impact development bioretention facilities. Additional civil works involve installing PVC catch basin lead pipes and performing both concrete and asphalt driveway restorations. The contractor is also responsible for full traffic management in accordance with the Ontario Traffic Control Manual Book 7 and the implementation of tree protection barriers. Bids must be submitted via the bids&tenders portal by September 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Requirements for submission include a 10% bid bond in an electronically verifiable format, with the successful bidder required to provide a 100% performance bond and a 50% labour and materials payment bond. Insurance mandates include five million dollars in commercial general liability and two million dollars in automobile liability. The Town will evaluate submissions based on compliance with all tender terms, bidder qualifications, and pricing, noting that the lowest priced compliant tender will not necessarily be accepted. Payments are processed within twenty-eight days of receiving a proper invoice.
