The Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) at Fort Knox, acting for the Department of the Army's Casualty and Mortuary Affairs Operations Division, is conducting market research to identify domestic manufacturers and suppliers for burial caskets and 100 percent domestically produced casket liners and interior upholstery fabrics. This Sources Sought notice aims to establish a supply chain compliant with the Berry Amendment (10 U.S.C. Under these regulations, all textile components must be wholly grown, reprocessed, reused, extruded, spun, woven, finished, and sewn within the United States. Technical requirements per DA PAM 638-2 specify that metal caskets must be upholstered in white, ivory, or similar colors, while hardwood and cremation caskets require rosetan or other neutral colors using crepe, satin, or similar materials. The scope of work includes the production of complete liner kits consisting of head and foot panels, inner panels, rolls, cloth gimp, pillows, mattress covers, backing, and batting. Interested parties, including casket manufacturers, textile mills, and fabricators, are invited to submit company profiles and market research questionnaires to James D. Gnagie by December 7, 2026.
