Metal Castings

The City of Seattle is seeking a new contract to supply iron castings and related items such as meter boxes, manhole covers, grating covers, valve box extensions, risers, and flanged bends. Since the City does not own the molds required for producing these castings, the successful bidder will be responsible for all costs of creating new molds, which must be approved by the City’s Water Distribution and Water Engineers. This solicitation follows the expiration of the current Metal Castings contract, which has been in place since 2013 and can no longer be renewed. The City aims to establish a fresh agreement to continue procuring these metal castings, which collectively amounted to approximately $1,265,000 in expenditures by City departments in 2025. The solicitation, issued by the City of Seattle’s Finance and Administrative Services Purchasing office, invites bids with a deadline for submission set in late March 2026. The contracting opportunity is open without any specified set-aside or special designation.
