The Department of Veterans Affairs Health Resource Center (HRC) plans to award a sole source contract to Heubel Material Handling, INC. for the relocation and repair of two Kardex Lektriever file cabinets. These units, currently located at the HRC Townsite office in Topeka, Kansas, need to be transported to the HRC West office. One of the Lektrievers, identified by model LK 2000 and serial number 0000034028, requires repair due to damage caused by overloading, which has misaligned the locking pins on the posting board. The contract scope includes safely moving both units, performing necessary repairs on the damaged Lektriever, and setting up both units at the HRC West location, ensuring they are fully operational upon completion. This contract involves three primary tasks: transporting the two units, repairing the specified Lektriever, and installation at the new site. The period of performance is scheduled for the week of August 18, 2014, with all work to be completed by August 22, 2014. Although the VA intends to award this contract to Heubel Material Handling as a sole source under FAR Part 15 and FAR Part 12 regulations, other interested parties capable of meeting the requirements are invited to submit information of their capability by August 4, 2014. However, this notice is not a formal request for proposals, and no payment will be made for submissions. The task location addresses are specifically designated, and all communications are to be directed to the contracting officer via email.
