The Clinical Center at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland, is the nation's largest hospital devoted to clinical research with patients from all over the United States and some from abroad. The Clinical Center provides medical care and research services to support patients participating in over 1500 active protocol sponsored by the NIH Institutes. The NIH Clinical Center has a requirement to provide consistent and reliable Medical Support Assistant staffing for the Nursing Department and the Patient Support Services Department (PSSD).
PSSD reports to the Clinical Center Office of the Director. PSSD is responsible for front-line customer service, reception, admission registration, creating patient vouchers, processing of patient travel invoices, and processing of appointments for various treatment and service areas.
