North Jetty Park Concession Services

Sarasota County is seeking a qualified Concessionaire for the operation and management of the Concession Area at North Jetty Park, located at 1000 South Casey Key Road in Nokomis, Florida. The primary scope of work includes providing food and beverage services, with the potential for optional retail concessions and supplementary services such as beach concierge, chair and umbrella rentals, and non-motorized vessel rentals. The County anticipates an initial contract term of three years. The selected operator will be responsible for all costs related to staffing, insurance, supplies, and the general maintenance and cleanliness of the area, accepting the facility in as-is condition. Proposers must demonstrate relevant experience in concession or hospitality services within the last seven years and submit a revenue sharing proposal consisting of a monthly flat fee and a percentage of gross sales. The selection process involves a written proposal submitted via the OpenGov portal, followed by required presentations for short-listed candidates. Evaluation is based on qualifications, project approach, and the best overall value to the County, with preferences given to local and American businesses. Operational requirements include strict adherence to environmental protections for marine habitats and shorebirds, the use of Green Seal Certified chemicals, and compliance with ADA standards. The contract prohibits the use of expanded polystyrene foam, single-use plastic bags, and glass containers for patrons. While beer and wine sales are permitted, distilled spirits require prior written approval and specific licensing. The Concessionaire must utilize an electronic point-of-sale system for transaction reporting and comply with the county's Integrated Pest Management procedural guidelines.
