The National Institutes of Health Clinical Center is issuing a notice of intent to sole source the procurement of an instrument drying cabinet and associated accessories, including workstations, soap dispensers, and washer racks. These items are required to support the cleaning, assembly, and processing of medical devices within the Sterile Processing Section. The agency intends to expand its existing equipment capacity by purchasing additional units from a specific provider, as it has been determined that only one source can supply the required washer racks. This acquisition is being conducted under the Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, specifically Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1), which allows for single-source solicitation for purchases below the simplified acquisition threshold when only one source is reasonably available. This is a notice of intent rather than a request for quotation, and no formal solicitation document will be issued. Interested parties may submit their capabilities and comments to the contract specialist at the NIH Office of Purchasing and Contracts by the specified closing date.
