Failure of the underground cabling between NR 1-9 and NAS 1-6 was discovered, a contractor hot capped the circuit allowing the U-Area Fuel Farm to re-energize from NR 1-9. This severly impacts redundancy between substations NR and NAS on the 11.5 kV system at NSN. In the event of a failure at NR substation, it is re-fed by NAS substation and vice versa. Due to the cable fault, there is currently no way to restore power until the PWD electrician is able to respond and proceed with the proper repairs. ): Not performing this repair/replacement of the cabling will significantly increase customer outage duration. continued operation with reduced redundancy and increased outage duration.
