The construction of 225 linear feet of fence is to protect a single point of failure where utility (water) entering the building to allow full capability of A/C supplying the building. In addition, it is a physical security requirement for SCIF building and it was a finding during the MAA inspection. Special Requirements: - Fencing fabric must be minimum 9-gage wire mesh and mesh openings must not be greater than 2-inches (51 mm) per side. - Fence fabric will be galvanized steel. - The fencing fabric must be extended to within 2 inches (51 mm) of firm ground and anchored using horizontal bottom rails prevent the fencing fabric from being able to be lifted by hand more than 5 inches (125 mm) in height. - Locate all posts, rails, bracing and tension wires on the secure/protected side, i.e. inner side, of the fencing fabric. - Twisted selvage must be provided on the top of the fence fabric to deter climbing. - Selvage may be knuckled AS the fence will have a bottom rail. - Fencing fabric will be mounted on steel posts that are set in concrete with additional bracing at corners and gate openings. - Posts must be vertical within plus or minus 2 degrees in each direction. - Posts for security fencing must be embedded and encased in concrete. - Steel truss rods used for bracing must have a minimum nominal diameter of 5/16 inch (8 mm) and provided with turnbuckles for tensioning. - Bracing will be provided for each gate, terminal and end post. - Truss rods will be installed diagonally from near ground level of the gate, t ...
