Numerous upgrades are required to the existing underground/aboveground storage tanks due to the issuance of the Environmental Final Governing Standards (FGS); including appropriate secondary containment, cathodic protection, and leak detection. Project will bring the tanks into compliance with the FGS requirements and reduce the risk of spills and releases to the environment. Building 48, BEQ (UST-048-01) Underground Storage Tank (UST), Diesel, 2,500 gallons The existing tank provides fuel for the heating boiler for Building 48. a) Provide corrosion protection for underground piping to include secondary containment and leak detection. b) Secure all fill-ports and install fill-port spill bucket. c) Install screen on tank vent pipe. d) Install isolation valves for line tightness testing. e) Tanks: Interstitial space monitors need to be repaired/replaced. f) High level alarms and level indicators need to be installed. Building 49, BEQ (UST-049-01) Underground Storage Tank (UST), Diesel, 4,000 gallons The existing tank provides fuel for the heating boiler for Building 48. a) Provide corrosion protection for underground piping to include secondary containment and leak detection. b) Secure all ports and install fill-port spill bucket. c) Install screen on tank vent pipe. e) Tanks: Interstitial space monitors need to be repaired/replaced. f) High level alarms and level indicators need to be installed.
