The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to enter into sole source negotiations with AmerisourceBergen Corporation for an annual software license and maintenance agreement for the MedSelect Drug Dispensing system at the William S. Although this is not a competitive solicitation, the government has provided an opportunity for other interested parties to express their capability to meet the requirement by November 19, 2013. Any responses received will be considered to determine whether the procurement should remain sole source or be opened to competition, but the final decision rests solely with the government. Full Description

Under Statutory Authority § 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) the Government anticipates entering into sole source procurement negotiations with Amerisourcebergen Corporation for an annual software license and maintenance for their MedSelect Drug Dispensing equipment and software at the William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital in Madison, WI. The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from one source. The VA has a requirement for a software license and for maintenance on the previously procured MedSelect Drug Dispensing system. This announcement is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1 and FAR 8.405-6 (a) and (b). Other persons may identify their interest and capability by responding to this requirement by November 19, 2013, 4:00 PM CST. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interest received on or before November 19, 2013 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of the notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation document is available.
