The United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is conducting a Direct Conversion with Cost Comparison Study to evaluate clerical support services currently provided by government personnel in Resource Conservation and Development offices located in Tuscola and Lawrenceville, Illinois. This notice, the second of two Sources Sought Notices, requests information to assist the Government prior to issuing any potential solicitation. The clerical duties involve extensive use of computer software such as Microsoft Office applications and proprietary agency programs to produce various technical and public information materials, manage communications, support meetings and project activities, maintain filing systems, and handle office logistics and correspondence. This request is not a solicitation, and no contract will be awarded from this notice alone; it serves to gather industry feedback and gauge interest. Providers are encouraged to respond only if they have not already replied to the March 18, 2003 notice. Interested parties must submit their responses via email by April 11, 2003, including detailed business information such as size, classification under various small business categories, and certifications. The potential contract falls under NAICS code 561110 for Office Administrative Services, and the Government reserves the right to forego awarding a contract if in-house performance proves more cost-effective. A formal solicitation is expected to be released around April 21, 2003, on the Federal Business Opportunities website.
