The United States Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has issued a second notice regarding a planned Direct Conversion with Cost Comparison Study for clerical support services at NRCS offices located in Morro Bay, Auburn, and Davis, California. Currently, these services are performed by government personnel, and the study aims to determine whether contracting these services out would be more cost-effective than continuing with in-house staff. This notice is not a formal solicitation or request for proposal, and the government is not obligated to award a contract based on this announcement. If a contract is awarded, it will be a single award covering all locations. Interested parties who did not respond to the first notice may express their interest by emailing Ray Miller no later than April 23, 2003. Respondents must provide their company name, email, mailing address, telephone, and fax number. The official solicitation is expected to be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities site around April 30, 2003. The work falls under the North American Industry Classification System code 561110 for Office Administrative Services, and any contract award will depend on whether the contracted services can be performed more cost-effectively than by current government staff.
