IMPACT: Failure of power plant generators components leads to imminent electrical power outage of the entire San Nicolas Island (SNI). These generators are the Sole-Source of power for the entire SNI. Mission critical operations affected facilities are communication antennas, range operations, high explosive magazines, airfield, radar tracking instrumentation facilities, missile assembly, missile & target launching, weapons testing, Port Ops, and medical clinic. 5. DETAIL DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Contractor shall provide labor, materials, equipment and supervision to perform repair power plant generators: Maximo Location: SANNIC-11SNI Facility No.: 114 A. Caterpillar diesel engine Generator Unit G-1, Model 3516 DI, 825KW 4160V Asset No.: UMA454000091 INFADS No.: NFA200000578965 1) Replace defective generator exciter field. 2) Replace leaking engine main crankshaft oil seals, front and rear. 3) Change and modify coolant temperature fan speed control system based on load from variable to fixed, preventing oscillation of generator engine coolant temperature. 4) Provide and install engine Emergency Control Unit with screen display monitor for operators to easily check engine data and log of engine faults.
