AI Contract Overview
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), representing the PMA-208 Aerial Targets Program Office, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather industry input regarding the capability to design, develop, qualify, and manufacture approximately 100-150 turbojet engines. These engines are intended to support the production restart of the BQM-34S aerial target, acting as an interim solution until the next full-scale aerial target becomes available. This RFI is purely for information gathering and market research purposes and does not constitute a solicitation or a commitment by the government. Respondents are not guaranteed compensation for any submitted information, and there is no obligation on the government’s part to award a contract or any other agreements based on responses. The government is considering awarding one or more Other Transaction Agreements (OTA) under 10 U.S.C. § 4022 for prototype development related to these engines. The use of the Naval Air Systems Consortium (NASC) and potential award of OTAs will be further discussed at a NASC Membership Meeting scheduled for June 25, 2026. Interested parties, particularly NASC members, are encouraged to participate. All information submitted in response is voluntary, unclassified, and may be shared across government entities for evaluation purposes. The solicitation number for this RFI is N00019-27-RFI-PMA208BQM34SEP, with a response deadline of July 14, 2026. The point of contact for inquiries includes Joseph Perriello and Raymond Cannon at the Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland.
