Sites Reservoir Project

The Sites Reservoir Project involves the construction of an off-stream surface water reservoir in the Antelope Valley, spanning Glenn and Colusa counties, to support environmental, municipal, industrial, and agricultural water needs across California. The project covers a total construction area of approximately 27,000 acres and is designed to impound up to 1.5 million acre-feet of water. Key infrastructure deliverables include the construction of two dams, seven saddle dams, and two saddle dikes, as well as the development of two recreation areas, road improvements, and the installation of pumping facilities and pipelines. The project is managed by the Sites Project Authority and is conducted in accordance with the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act and Reclamation law. It has received environmental approval through the State Water Resources Control Board following the certification of an Environmental Impact Report in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act. The project's performance area extends across Tehama, Glenn, Colusa, and Yolo Counties, with primary operations centered near Sites, California.
