AI Contract Overview
The U.S. Geological Survey’s Radiogenic Isotopes Lab in Reston, Virginia, intends to award a non-competitive purchase order to Spectromat Massenspektrometer GMBH of Bremen, Germany, for the replacement of specific electronic boards and parts, namely the QHV/Filament Regulator, for its Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer. As the original equipment manufacturer, Spectromat is the sole authorized provider of genuine parts and technical support for SPECTROMAT instrumentation, making competition infeasible. The contract will be awarded under a firm, fixed-price structure with delivery expected within 90 days of award, and it is being processed in accordance with the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul provisions that permit noncompetitive procurement when only one source can meet the government’s requirements. The North American Industry Classification System code is 334516, with a size standard of 1,000 employees, and the vendor must be registered in SAM.gov to be eligible for award. Although a solicitation number and response deadline are listed, this action is explicitly for informational purposes and not a solicitation for competitive bids. Interested parties may direct inquiries to Susan Ruggles at sruggles@usgs.gov.
