UM - Replace Waiawa #2 and #3 Pumps & Motors

Project to replace main fresh water pumps #2 and #3 at the Waiawa Fresh Water Pump Station. The replacement will include the following: - Two(2) vertical turbine pump and motor, 6250 GPM at 190 FT TDH, 400 HP, 1200 RPM - Associated piping - Pump controls Currently, Waiawa operates and maintains four main pumps that provide approximately 18 million gallons or 80% of the fresh water that is supplied to JBPHH. Pump #4 was replaced in 2018, while pumps #2 and #3 were last replaced in 1987. Typically one to two pumps are operated depending on the system demand and the tank levels at S1 and S2. S1 and S2 tanks must remain at a certain level for hydraulic and fire protection requirements. However, due to the fuel contamination incident, the Red Hill shaft has been temporarily disconnected from the distribution system and is not serving the system at this time. Therefore the Waiawa has to continuously operate two pumps to maintain base demands. Replacing pumps #2 and #3 will be critical to continuously provide JBPHH with a reliable fresh water source. Project preference is for AE design and design-bid-build process. Project will require planning and EV documents; and generation of design documents (i.e. basis of design, cost estimate, construction plans, specifications, etc.).
