The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a sole source contract to Olympus America Inc. for the rental and maintenance of a comprehensive suite of flexible endoscopes, including gastrointestinal (GI), bronchoscopes, and ear, nose, and throat (ENT) devices. This contract will span a one-year base period with four additional one-year option periods. The decision to limit the contract to Olympus is based on the proprietary nature of their equipment, which is currently in use at the VA Southern Nevada Health Care System, ensuring continuity of care, compatibility with existing reprocessing equipment, and reduced training requirements. Olympus America Inc. is also uniquely qualified to perform maintenance and repairs, as no authorized third-party service providers are available. No formal solicitation will be issued, as this is a notice of intent under FAR 13.106-1(b)(2), indicating only one source can meet the Government’s needs. Interested contractors who believe they can provide the required services must submit detailed technical documentation by the specified deadline to the contracting officer, Megan Barr, via email. The Government will review submissions but retains complete discretion on whether to compete the acquisition. The contract work will be administered by the VA's Network Contract Office 21, with NAICS code 532490 applicable to the requirement.
