AI Contract Overview
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking industry input through a sources-sought notice for web portal access to a comprehensive, externally hosted online database containing current, regularly updated market research reports, economic statistics, and industry trend analyses focused on scientific and technology-oriented sectors. The solution must provide institution-wide access to a broad range of data across more than 20 key sectors including AI, IoT, biotechnology, semiconductors, and quantum computing, with full-text searchability, downloadable reports in shareable formats, historical and projected market data, and transparent reporting that includes author credentials and methodology details. The database is intended to support NIST’s 3,000 researchers across Gaithersburg, Maryland and Boulder, Colorado by enabling informed strategic decision-making, funding justification, and research planning, while excluding pay-per-report models and consumer-focused content. Access must be available to a minimum of five simultaneous users and fully integrate with NIST’s internal sharing and research integrity protocols. The notice, issued under solicitation number NIST-AMD-F-Library-SS-26-0005 and posted on May 18, 2026, with a deadline for responses on June 1, 2026, is strictly a pre-solicitation market research tool and does not constitute a formal procurement or contract. No contract value, pricing, or award is expected at this stage, and no contract clauses, evaluation factors, delivery schedules, or special requirements have been defined. Responses must be submitted exclusively via email to Rene Edwards, Contract Specialist, in Microsoft Word, Excel, or PDF format, and must include only non-proprietary information such as company details, Unique Entity ID, and small business status. The anticipated place of performance is Gaithersburg, Maryland, with services supporting users nationwide, but physical delivery or packaging requirements do not apply since access is entirely electronic. This activity is part of the NIST Research Library’s broader mission to deliver high-quality scientific and technical information resources to advance the Institute’s mission in measurement science, and the agency is gathering market input to inform future solicitation development.
