Wilker Stream Crossing Project (Notification of Lake or Streambed Alteration, No. EPIMS-MEN-67734-R1C)

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake or Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS-MEN-67734-R1C with Frank Wilker for the Wilker Stream Crossing Project in Mendocino County. Pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code, the project is authorized as a Class 1 Categorical Exemption for the repair and minor alteration of an existing stream crossing. The scope of work is limited to a single encroachment involving excavation, the installation of a broad dip centered at the crossing, and the addition of rock road base extending approximately five feet on each side of the dipped section. Additional requirements include the backfill and compaction of outboard fill material and the placement of rock armor with a median diameter of 6 to 9 inches along the fill face. To protect the environment, vehicle operation on the crossing is prohibited whenever surface flow is present.
