The Canadian Department of National Defence is seeking a Network Support Specialist Level 2 to provide operational support for the Canadian Joint Warfare Centre’s distributed network infrastructure, specifically the Canadian Forces Exercise Network (CFXNET) and Development Network (Dev Net), including connectivity to international partners such as CFBLNet and the US Joint Training and Experimentation Network. The position requires daily network monitoring, incident triage, ticket management, access control modifications including ACL and VLAN updates, and direct support during military exercises involving the Network Operations Centre, Joint Battle Lab, and Integrated Test Bed. The work must be performed on-site in the National Capital Region, and all personnel must possess the necessary security clearance to handle sensitive information, as outlined in the Security Requirements Checklist and Annex D Non-Disclosure Agreement, which must be signed and returned by all employees or subcontractors. The contractor must hold a valid organization security clearance prior to award, and the contract is subject to the Controlled Goods Program under SACC Manual clause A9130T. The contract is awarded on a fixed-price, all-inclusive hourly rate basis as defined in Annex B, with an estimated workload of 1,650 hours per year over a one-year initial term, with Canada retaining an irrevocable option to extend for an additional year under identical terms. Payment is made monthly via direct deposit upon submission of electronically signed invoices and detailed timesheets that document actual hours worked, excluding passive time such as standby or retainer periods. The technical evaluation carries 70% weight and prioritizes experience meeting mandatory criteria: five years of hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and firewalls in LAN/WAN environments, or three years of such experience combined with a university degree in computer science. The remaining 30% of the scoring is based on price competitiveness. Bids must include signed copies of the Cover Page, Basis of Payment, Non-Disclosure Agreement, Certificate of Independent Bid Determination, Electronic Payment Instruments, and all referenced appendices, submitted electronically no later than 1500 hrs Eastern Standard Time on June 10, 2026.
