The Naval Surface Warfare Center – Carderock Division (Philadelphia) intends to procure on a sole source basis from John Crane, Inc. (Morton Grove, IL) the manufacture and delivery of a quantity of four (4) Mk21 Air Turbine Pump (ATP) mechanical seal assemblies. A Firm Fixed Price type contract is anticipated. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 336611. The authority permitting other than full and open competition is Title 10 U.S.C. §2304 (c) (1). The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by 31 May 2012 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract among responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
