The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) plans to award a sole-source purchase order valued at $86,042.16 to SYSCOM Services, Inc. for maintenance and support of the PTOFAX system, which is an enterprise fax solution utilizing Capteris RightFAX, Captaris Alchemy, and SYSCOM's custom interface modules. This contract is awarded under FAR 6.302-1, citing only one responsible source, and thus no request for proposal will be issued. The support includes phone and on-site assistance during business hours, backed by additional phone support from Captaris for the RightFAX system. The contractor is responsible for performing software upgrades, installations, testing in a lab setting, system integrity checks, and BrookTrout FAX card support and replacement. The services cover licensing and operation of RightFAX software for both production and lab environments, including multiple channels and PRI lines, with equipment such as BrookTrout TR1034 FAX cards. Alchemy phone support and software upgrades for search and retrieval servers are also included for a three-year term. The contract requires rapid response times—within one hour for phone support and same-day for on-site service—and mandates that service personnel hold specific certifications in Microsoft Enterprise Server Clustering, Captaris RightFAX and Alchemy, and SYSCOM’s Advanced Interface System due to custom integration requirements. This service period runs from June 1, 2007, to May 31, 2008, with responses due by April 25, 2007. The contracting office is located in Alexandria, Virginia, and the point of contact is Contract Specialist Connie A. Lum.
